The futures calculator helps you estimate opening margin, trading fees, profit, and return before placing an order. It uses your assumed entry and exit conditions to compare trading scenarios. Its results are estimates, not actual trade outcomes, and the calculator does not submit orders.
This guide uses Return Calculation for USDT-margined perpetual futures as an example.
Web
Step 1: Open the calculator
Log in to AstralX and go to the futures trading page. In the order panel on the right, click Calculator next to Available Balance to open Return Calculation.
Step 2: Enter the calculation details
Select or enter the following:
- Contract: Select the contract, such as BTCUSDT Perpetual.
- Position type: Select Long or Short.
- Leverage: Select the leverage you want to assume.
- Entry price and quantity: Enter your planned entry price and quantity. Check the units shown in each field.
- Exit price and quantity: Enter your assumed exit price and quantity. For a partial close, enter only the quantity you plan to close.
- Available margin: Enter the amount requested by the calculator and confirm that the unit is USDT.
Click Calculate when finished.
Step 3: Review the results
The calculator displays Opening Margin, estimated Taker and Maker fees for opening and closing, Profit, and Return. Taker and Maker fees represent different execution scenarios. Do not add both fees together for the same opening or closing trade.
App
Step 1: Open the calculator
Tap Futures at the bottom of the AstralX app to open USDT-M Perpetual. Tap ⋯ in the upper-right corner, then select Calculator under Common Features. This opens Return Calculation in the Futures Calculator.
Step 2: Enter the details and calculate
Select a contract and Long or Short. Enter Leverage, Entry Price, Entry Quantity, Exit Price, and Exit Quantity. Check the price and quantity units, then tap Calculate at the bottom.
Step 3: Review the results
Under Calculation Results, review the opening margin, Taker and Maker fees, profit, and return. If you change any assumption, tap Calculate again to update the estimate.
Why Might the Estimate Differ From an Actual Trade?
The calculator uses the prices and quantities you enter. Actual fill prices, filled quantities, and applicable fee rates may differ. Funding fees may also accrue while you hold a position, and the final P&L depends on how your closing order is filled. Refer to your order, trade, and funding records for actual results.
The calculator provides estimates only. It does not open or close positions or guarantee returns.
