AstralX's index price protection mechanism is designed to improve the accuracy and stability of index prices. When the quotes from constituent exchanges are not updated in a timely manner or deviate significantly from other reference prices, the system adjusts their weights or prices according to the following conditions.
1. Connection Timeliness
- If the price of a constituent exchange is not updated within 10 seconds, the exchange's weight will be reduced to zero when calculating the index price.
-
If the exchange's price resumes updating within 10 seconds, its weight will be restored.
2. Handling of Constituent Exchange Prices:
When there are at least 2 constituent exchanges:
- If the price of a constituent exchange differs from the median price of the constituent exchanges by more than 10%, that price will be removed from the index calculation.
- If the price of a constituent exchange differs from the median by more than 5%, that price will be adjusted to within 5% of the median. When the difference between its price and the median falls below 5%, the index price will be updated accordingly.
When there is 1 constituent exchange:
- If the exchange's price differs from the cryptocurrency price on the AstralX platform by more than 10%, the exchange's price will be excluded.
-
Subsequently, the final calculated index price will follow the cryptocurrency price on the AstralX platform.
3. Reinstatement and Non-Following of Constituent Exchange Prices:
If either of the following conditions is met continuously for 5 minutes, the excluded constituent exchange will be re-added to the index calculation:
- If at least 2 active constituent exchanges remain, an exchange excluded due to price deviation under the “at least 2 exchanges” condition in Section 2 must have its price return to within 3% of the median price of the remaining active constituent exchanges before it can be included in the index calculation again.
- If only 1 active constituent exchange remains, an exchange excluded under the “only 1 exchange” condition in Section 2 will not be re-included.
Through the mechanisms described above, Astral's index price protection mechanism is designed to ensure the accuracy of index prices and adjust the weights and prices of constituent exchanges according to specific conditions, providing stable and reliable index data.
